About me.
Yasmine
Hello and welcome!
My name is Yasmine, and I’m originally from South Wales in the UK. I qualified as a nurse in 2012 and then moved to London, where I worked at King’s College Hospital as a Senior ICU Sister and ECMO specialist. King’s has one of the largest intensive care department in Europe, and I was fortunate to gain extensive experience in this diverse, multi-specialty critical care environment.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I co-authored and collected data for a bereavement study published by Cambridge University Press, titled "Grief and coping among relatives of patients who died of COVID-19 in intensive care during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic." I then obtain my CELTA teaching qualification.
In 2024, I moved to Kyoto to combine my passion for education and healthcare. I now specialise in teaching medical English, offering personalised one to one lessons focused on clinical communication, medical writing (including academic or professional purposes) and public speaking coaching. I also continue to work as an ICU nurse in London, keeping up to date with the latest developments and medical practices.
