About me.

Yasmine

Hello and welcome!

My name is Yasmine, and I was born in South Wales, UK. I qualified as a nurse in 2012 and later moved to London, where I worked at King’s College Hospital as a Senior ICU Sister and ECMO specialist. King’s has the largest intensive care department in Europe, and I was fortunate to gain extensive experience in this diverse, multi-specialty critical care environment.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I co-authored and collected data for a bereavement study published by Cambridge University Press, titled "Grief and coping among relatives of patients who died of COVID-19 in intensive care during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic." I then gained my CELTA teaching qualification.

In 2024, I moved to Kyoto, Japan, to teach English — combining my medical background with a passion for education. I now specialise in medical English for healthcare professionals, offering personalised lessons focused on clinical communication, medical vocabulary, writing for academic or professional purposes, and public speaking coaching. Alongside my teaching, I continue to practise as an ICU nurse in London.
